Village In Action!
Are you looking to get involved?- One time? Monthly? Weekly?
Village in Action is a ministry at VCB which works to facilitate and develop relationships with ministry and community partners. We are also involved in providing opportunities for members and attenders of The Village Church to share the love of Jesus in the local community through service and compassion. We want to move out in Christ’s love and make a difference in peoples' lives.
There are literally hundreds of organizations that would like to partner with VCB-they are generally looking for help with funding, volunteers, or promoting their mission. We are responsible for developing criteria for both Community Partners and Ministry Partners to apply fairly and consistently to narrow this large group of organizations down to the ones with which we will partner. We review existing organizations annually to see if they still meet our criteria and would remain a good match to our congregation and strategic plan going forward. We will also review new organizations to see if there are any that we should add to our partner group. Download our Ministry Partner Criteria.

Barrington Giving Day - Partnering with other churches to provide a back to school event for those in District 220 who are under-resourced.
Breakthrough - Breakthrough partners with those affected by poverty to build connections, develop skills, and open doors of opportunity.
By the Hand Club for Kids - By the Hand Club is committed to helping children who live in high-risk, inner-city neighborhoods have abundant life.
Campus Life - Campus Life provides year round outreach to a school by relationally engaging with students in need of Christ.
Informed Choices - Informed Choices is a Crisis Pregnancy Center to meet the emotional, spiritual, and practical needs of women experiencing unplanned pregnancies.
Kids Hope USA - Kids Hope USA mentors spend one hour each week reading, talking, playing, and listening to a child at school. By helping the child feel loved and valued they help that child to learn, grow, and succeed.
NCS Nationwide Chaplain Services - Offering Emergency Responders and their families a safe haven where confidential relationships of trust are established so as to provide effective education, emotional support and appropriate mitigation (options for recovery) of the risks or challenges that surround their daily lives.
Timothy's Ministry - Timothy's Ministry helps people to step out of homelessness, helps to alleviate the suffering in homelessness, and prays that people experience the love, hope, grace, and family that can only come from God through Jesus.
